The Real Estate Board of Metro Vancouver reports in January 2016: "Home buyer demand was at near record heights and home seller supply was as low as we've seen in many years."
Here are some highlights:
- Overal for Metro Vancouver January 2016's sales were 46% above the 10 year average for the month and ranks as the second highest January on record. .
- Sales of North Vancouver Detached Properties were 2.9% higher Than January 2015 with 31% less inventory
- Sales of North Vancouver Attached Properties were 27.6% higher than January 2015 with 58% less inventory
- Sales of West Vancouver Detached Properties were 95% higher than January 2015 with 24% less inventory
- Sales of West Vancouver Attached Properties were 109% higher than January 2015 with 34% less inventory
- Sales of Downtown condo properties were 8% higher than January 2015
Seller's Markets in January 2016:
- The Sales-To-Active listings ratio for Metro Vancouver was 38 percent, with 3.8 out of every 10 properties sold, Indicating a strong seller's market.
- The Sales-To-Active listings ratio for North Vancouver Detached properties was 55%, with 5.5 out of every 10 homes sold
- The Sales-To-Active listings ratio for North Vancouver Attached properties was 61%, with 6.1 out of every 10 homes sold
- The Sales-To-Active listings ratio for West Vancouver Detached properties was 28%, with 2.8 out of every 10 homes sold
- The Sales-To-Active listings ratio for West Vancouver Attached properties was 29%, with 2.9 out of every 10 homes sold
- The Sales-To-Active listings ratio for Coal Harbour Condos was 26%, with 2.6 out of every 10 homes sold
